To form the entire face trim flat without the pie crust appearance, we notch the back trim and turn each tab to overlap the edge of the next tab.

This allows the rear of the vent to mimic the face arch exact.

Aluminum insect screen and then wire mesh was added to prevent squirrels, racoons, roof rats and even field mice from entering the attic through the vent area.

With all this, this small vent still has 116 square inches of net free air.

Shipping is set by dimension restrictions,

The vent face is trimmed with a 1 inch trimming.

This is where we can really see that some tiny vents are too small to vent.

At 24 inches on the base and 8 inches high in the center,

it would have had some ventilation.

But it was ordered not as the vent size measure,

instead, as the outer flange measure.

This makes the triangle vent even smaller.
