This 5.5 inch deep rectangular vent is 25 1/2" x 31 1/2" ordered as opening size to fit the gable wall opening of 26 x 32.

This 1/4" allowance per side allows the vent to easily slide into the opening without modifications.

This size difference also allows the wood framing to expand and contract properly.
