The octagon louver vents are the toughest shape to photograph.
With 8 angled sides and all the corners…
Obtain
Octagon custom attic exhaust vents
A little 18 x 18 octagon hole in a gable wall will fit a 17 1/2 x 17 1/2 vent.
Order 18 x 18 opening size for this size.
All the corners are neatly tucked and mitered at a 22.5 degree angle.
The frame shape is held with a band built into the rail system.
Bright white and can be painted but does not have to be.
The 1 inch depth of this slim-line vent is shown here.
What screen would you use on this stop sign shaped vent?
These were backed with aluminum screen to prevent bugs such as wasps, crickets and large mosquitoes.

28 X 20 X 2 Square No Flange Custom Louvre Exhaust Vent
Replacing a rectangle vent or an attic window with a vent is easy.
The window panes were removed to reveal a 28 x 20 inch opening.
This opening was already trimmed out with brick mold.

So, the decission of close the window off with a blinder or replace it was made.
Why not add to the attic ventilation by using a gable vent?
The no flange, boxed frame is 2 inches and perfect for this install.
The vent was ordered as opening size for the vent to be reduced to 27 1/2 x 19 1/2.
This allows the vent to easily slide into the opening and be squared up and sealed off.
The vent install was less than the time to remove the window panes.
